Zealong Origins Pure Oolong Tea is grown and harvested on New Zealand's only commercial tea estate in the Waikato. This unroasted, organic oolong is prized for its sweet, fresh taste and delicate floral aroma — quite distinct from the darker, roasted oolongs commonly found in Asian teas. As the world's southernmost tea plantation, Zealong's slow-growing leaves develop a uniquely clean, complex flavour profile free from pesticides and artificial inputs.
Zealong Pure Oolong has a sweet, clean, and fresh flavour with delicate floral and green notes. Because the leaves are un-roasted, it is lighter and more delicate than traditional Chinese or Taiwanese oolongs.
Use water heated to around 80–85°C (not boiling). Steep 2–3g of loose leaf tea per 200ml of water for 2–3 minutes. The leaves can be steeped multiple times — each infusion brings out slightly different flavour notes.
Yes. Oolong tea contains caffeine, though typically less than black tea and more than green tea. The amount varies by steep time and temperature. It is generally considered a moderate caffeine option.
Oolong tea is rich in polyphenols and antioxidants that support heart health, blood sugar management, and metabolism. Regular consumption is associated with improved alertness, skin health, and bone density in some studies.
Yes. Zealong tea is certified organic and grown without pesticides on their estate in the Waikato region of New Zealand. It is one of the most rigorously pure teas available in NZ.
