Thompson's One-A-Day Ginkgo 12500mg provides a concentrated, standardised Ginkgo biloba extract equivalent to 12500mg of dried leaf per capsule in a convenient once-daily format. Ginkgo biloba is one of the most well-studied herbal supplements for cognitive support — improving memory, concentration, and mental clarity by enhancing cerebral blood flow and providing potent antioxidant protection to brain tissue. One capsule daily replaces multiple standard-dose capsules.
The 12500mg equivalent refers to the amount of dried Ginkgo biloba leaf that would be needed to provide the same level of active ginsenosides and terpenoids as the concentrated extract in each capsule. The actual extract weight per capsule is much smaller, but the concentration of active compounds equals what would be found in 12500mg of raw dried leaf.
Thompson's 12500mg is more highly concentrated — providing approximately twice the extract equivalent per capsule compared to 6000mg products. This means potentially stronger effects on circulation and cognitive function, particularly for people who find lower-dose ginkgo products insufficient.
Most clinical evidence shows meaningful improvements in cognitive function, memory, and circulation after 6–12 weeks of consistent daily use. Some people notice subtle improvements in clarity and focus within 2–4 weeks of starting.
Ginkgo has mild antiplatelet effects and may interact with warfarin, aspirin, and other blood-thinning or antiplatelet medications. If you take any blood thinners or anticoagulants, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking ginkgo.
Yes. Ginkgo is one of the most widely studied herbal supplements for age-related cognitive decline and is particularly popular among older adults. The once-a-day format makes it easy to incorporate into a daily routine. Check with your GP about any medication interactions if you take multiple medications.
