Salvestrols are extracted phytonutrients essential for wellbeing that cannot be made in the body and must be supplied through the diet.

They have been identified in many fruits, vegetables, and herbs, however, even the best modern-day diet will only supply 10-20% of Salvestrol content compared to a diet many years ago.

Salvestrols contained in Salvestrol Platinum are extracted using nesem® technology from the pith and skin of organically grown fruit and vegetables that have ripened naturally (citrus bioflavonoids - citrus sinensis, grape seed - vitis vinifera, pumpkin - curcurbita maximaI). Modern farming methods using fungicides, pesticides and GMO foods have reduced the amount of Salvestrols found in foods, but organically grown foods not allowed to ripen naturally (picked early) will also have reduced Salvestrols levels. When plants ripen naturally it protects itself from attack from insects, fungi, mould, UV damage and other microbes by producing secondary plant metabolites.

Salvestrols act as a healthy cell support, being anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal. Salvestrols work beyond antioxidants, interacting with proteins that support cell regulation through repair or apoptosis of abnormal cells (both DNA damaged cells and pre-DNA damaged cells). Salvestrols support cell regulation by being metabolised by the CYP1B1 enzyme which becomes highly activated in damaged cells. As this enzyme is not present in healthy cells the Salvestrols exert no ill effects on them.
