Single-herb powder for the scalp

Radico Organic Brahmi Leaf Powder is milled from certified organic Bacopa monnieri leaf and contains nothing else — no fillers, no synthetic preservatives, no fragrance.

Brahmi is one of the conditioning herbs in Radico's plant colour blends. On its own it carries no pigment, so it will not colour hair or alter a plant colour already in place. It suits people who want a scalp treatment they can repeat often without anything building up.

How to use

1. Weigh 5-8 g for a scalp treatment on short to shoulder-length hair, or 10-16 g on long or thick hair. A full-length mask takes around 30 g at shoulder length.
2. Add warm water gradually at three to four times the powder's weight in millilitres and stir until smooth.
3. Let the paste stand five minutes and check the consistency again.
4. Section the hair and work the paste into the scalp, then take the rest through the lengths.
5. Cover, leave 30-45 minutes, and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Questions

Is brahmi the same as bacopa?
Yes — Bacopa monnieri is the botanical name for the herb sold as brahmi. Note that a different plant, Centella asiatica, is sometimes also called brahmi. This powder is bacopa.

Will it change my colour?
No. Brahmi has no pigment, so it is safe to use between colours or alongside one.

How is it different from neem?
Both are colour-neutral scalp herbs. Neem is the more astringent of the two; brahmi is the gentler option for a scalp that feels easily irritated.

Can I leave it on longer than 45 minutes?
There is no advantage we know of past an hour, and a paste that dries out stops doing anything. Keep it covered and damp for the time it is on.
