Radico Organic Bhringraj Leaf Powder is milled from certified organic Eclipta prostrata (syn. E. alba) leaf and contains nothing else — no fillers, no synthetic preservatives, no fragrance.
Bhringraj is the herb Ayurveda names specifically for hair — Kesharaja, king of hair. It carries no lawsone and no indigotin, which is exactly why it can sit inside a colour formula without affecting the shade. It appears in 22 of Radico's 24 shades, every one except Violet and Honey Blonde. On its own it will not colour hair, will not cover grey, and will not shift a plant colour already in place.
Eclipta prostrata belongs to the Asteraceae family, alongside ragweed, chrysanthemum, marigold and daisy. If you have a known Asteraceae allergy, patch test on your inner forearm 48 hours before a full application, or choose Radico Brahmi Leaf Powder instead — brahmi sits in the unrelated Plantaginaceae family.
Keep it covered and damp. The plant compounds travel in water, so a dried paste left on for two hours does less than a damp one left for forty minutes. Nothing is gained past an hour.
A 100 g pouch gives roughly 13-20 scalp treatments on short to shoulder-length hair, or about 3 full-length masks.
100% organic bhringraj leaf powder (Eclipta prostrata, syn. E. alba). Made in India. Net weight 100 g.
This is a cosmetic product for external use on hair and scalp. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, including hair loss.
Will it darken my hair over time?
No. You will read that traditional texts describe bhringraj as darkening hair with long use, but there is no pigment in the leaf to deposit. One application or fifty, there is nothing in the pouch that colours.
Can I use it if I react to daisies or ragweed?
Take care. Bhringraj is in the same plant family. Patch test 48 hours ahead, or use brahmi instead, which is unrelated.
How often should I use it?
Once to three times a week. Nothing accumulates, so frequency is a matter of what your routine allows.
Can I mix it with my Radico shade?
Yes — blend the dry powders before adding water. It adds no colour and will not improve grey coverage. A large share will dilute the colouring herbs and give a lighter result, so keep additions modest.
