HealthE Dimethicone 5% Cream is a pharmacy-grade silicone-based protective barrier cream. Dimethicone forms a water-repellent, protective "glove" over the skin, shielding it from moisture, irritants, and friction. Widely used in healthcare to protect skin against incontinence-related moisture damage, nappy rash, skin folds, and occupational skin exposure. The 500ml pump dispenser makes it practical for frequent application in clinical and home settings.
Dimethicone is a silicone polymer that forms a thin, water-repellent barrier on the skin surface when applied. This barrier prevents moisture (including urine, sweat, and wound exudate) from reaching and damaging the underlying skin, making it ideal for incontinence skin care, nappy rash prevention, and protecting skin in moist skin folds.
Yes. Dimethicone barrier creams are the gold standard for incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) prevention. Applied to the perineal and perianal skin before incontinence products, they protect the skin from prolonged moisture exposure that causes skin breakdown and IAD.
Yes. Dimethicone provides an effective water-repellent barrier that prevents urine and faeces from contacting the skin, making it ideal for nappy rash prevention and management. It is gentle and suitable for infant skin.
Yes. Dimethicone is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, and generally very well tolerated by sensitive skin. It is fragrance-free and free from common irritants, making it suitable for reactive and compromised skin.
Apply at each change or exposure event — for incontinence care, apply at each pad or brief change. For nappy rash, apply at each nappy change. For general skin protection, apply as often as needed before exposure to moisture or irritants.
