Breastfeeding is one of the most nutritionally demanding periods in a woman's life. Elevit Breastfeeding is specifically formulated to support the increased nutritional requirements during lactation - providing key vitamins, minerals and nutrients that may be depleted during breastfeeding.
Breast milk is nutritionally complete for babies - but the nutrients it contains come from the mother's body. Breastfeeding significantly increases requirements for vitamins D, B12, iodine, omega-3 DHA and other nutrients. If a mother's diet doesn't supply enough, her own stores are drawn on to maintain breast milk quality, potentially depleting her health over time. A breastfeeding-specific supplement helps bridge nutritional gaps during this demanding period.
Start Elevit Breastfeeding from the time your baby is born and breastfeeding is established. You can transition from a pregnancy supplement to the breastfeeding formula at delivery. Continue taking throughout the duration of breastfeeding. Consult our pharmacist if you have questions about the transition from pregnancy to breastfeeding supplements.
Avoid taking other multivitamin or mineral supplements alongside Elevit Breastfeeding to prevent exceeding safe upper limits for certain nutrients, particularly vitamin A and iron. Single-nutrient supplements (e.g. vitamin D, omega-3) can generally be taken alongside if advised by your health provider. Always inform our pharmacist of all supplements you are taking.
