Frequently Asked Questions

Is brewers yeast the same as nutritional yeast?

Both are derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, but they differ in processing. Brewers yeast is a byproduct of beer brewing and is more bitter. Nutritional yeast is grown specifically as food and is often fortified with B12. Both provide B-vitamins and protein.

Is NOW Brewers Yeast suitable for people with yeast sensitivities?

People with yeast allergies or sensitivities should consult their healthcare provider before use.
