The USL Medical Lumbar Roll is recommended by health professionals for supporting ongoing back conditions and injuries during everyday activities. Designed to maintain the natural lumbar curve of the spine while seated, it helps reduce lower back strain and fatigue whether you are at your office desk, driving, or relaxing at home.
The compact roll design fits most chairs, car seats and home seating, providing consistent lumbar support without requiring any attachment or modification to the seat. Available from Pakuranga Pharmacy.
A: Lumbar rolls are beneficial for anyone who sits for extended periods — particularly people with lower back pain, disc conditions, sciatica, or postural problems aggravated by sitting. They are commonly recommended by physiotherapists, chiropractors and occupational health professionals for people working at desks, driving long distances or recovering from back injuries.
A: Position the lumbar roll horizontally across the lower back, in the small of the back between the waist and the top of the pelvis (approximately at the level of the navel). The roll should gently fill the gap between the lower back and the chair back, supporting the natural inward curve (lordosis) of the lumbar spine without forcing an exaggerated arch.
A: A lumbar roll is a useful supplement to good chair ergonomics but should not replace proper chair adjustment. Ideally, use both: adjust your chair to the correct height, armrest position and seat depth, then use the lumbar roll to fine-tune the lower back support. A well-adjusted ergonomic chair with a lumbar roll provides optimal seated posture support.
A: The USL Medical Lumbar Roll is typically held in place by the pressure of your back against the chair, or can be secured using the straps or attachments provided (if included). In car seats, place it between the seat back and your lower back and let your body weight keep it in position. For office chairs with a gap between the seat and back, the roll sits naturally in the lumbar region.
