The USL Sport Wrap N Ice Reusable Gel Cold Pack is an ideal reusable cold therapy solution for clinics, sporting clubs and home use. The 12×27cm gel pack conforms to the body contours and can be stored in the freezer for quick deployment when needed. Cold therapy (cryotherapy) is a fundamental component of the RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) protocol for acute sports injuries.
The flexible gel formulation remains pliable even when frozen, ensuring comfortable contact with the injured area. Available from Pakuranga Pharmacy.
A: Apply the cold pack to the injured area for 15–20 minutes, then remove for at least 40 minutes before reapplying. Never apply a frozen ice pack directly to bare skin — always wrap in a thin cloth or the pack's cover to prevent ice burns. Repeat every 2–4 hours during the first 48–72 hours after injury.
A: Place the gel pack in the freezer for at least 2 hours before use. For maximum cold retention, keep it in the freezer until needed. The flexible gel formulation allows the pack to conform to body contours even when frozen, providing better contact with the injury site than rigid ice bags.
A: This product is primarily designed for cold therapy. While some gel packs can be heated in a microwave for heat therapy, always check the product label before doing so — using this pack for heat without manufacturer approval may damage the pack or cause injury. Ask our pharmacist about dedicated hot/cold packs for dual-use therapy needs.
A: The gel pack typically maintains therapeutic cold temperatures for 15–25 minutes depending on ambient temperature and body heat. This aligns with the recommended 15–20 minute application window for acute injury cryotherapy. Return the pack to the freezer between applications to recharge for the next use.
